I’m a professionally trained chef and the creator of “Easy Cooking Us“. My passion lies in helping home cooks feel confident in the kitchen by sharing recipes that are flavorful, straightforward, and totally doable—even on busy weeknights.

Through my blog, I offer recipes that I’ve personally tested and tweaked until they’re just right. My focus is always on making cooking feel less like a chore and more like something you look forward to—without sacrificing taste.

After finishing college, I attended a French culinary school in the New York area. From there, I worked my way up in a fine dining restaurant, starting as an apprentice and eventually cooking on the line.

As much as I loved the food world, I quickly realized that the high-pressure atmosphere of a professional kitchen wasn’t the right long-term fit for me. Being the only woman in a fast-paced, male-dominated kitchen—with flames, sharp knives, and short tempers—was intense, to say the least.

I eventually moved into marketing and public relations for top restaurants around New York City. It was a better balance, but the long hours were still tough. Once I became a mom, I found my true rhythm in home cooking—taking all the skills and techniques I learned in restaurants and adapting them for everyday meals that work for real families.

Beyond the Kitchen

When I’m not in the kitchen, I enjoy spending time at home with my family. I was born and raised in New York, and I still live here with my husband Daniel, our two college-aged kids (when they’re home), and our two sweet—and always hungry—chocolate labs, Rocky and Max.

The best part of what I do is connecting with readers. So if you ever have a question or just want to say hi, feel free to email me at [email protected] or leave a comment—I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!

Still Curious? Here’s a Quick Snapshot of Me…

  • I’m naturally introverted—my family, a few close friends, and a good book make me happy.
  • I met my husband, Daniel, on a blind date, and we’ve been married for 18 years.
  • I have a 16-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter.
  • My passion for cooking started in college while studying abroad in France and living with a French family. (My mom isn’t much into cooking!)
  • One summer, I worked as an au pair in Paris for a family with three young boys and a puppy. That’s actually the only job I was ever fired from.
  • Attending culinary school was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had.
  • During my first week in a restaurant kitchen, I cried every night, wondering what I’d gotten myself into.
  • After becoming a mom, I focused on home cooking, using what I learned in the restaurant world to create easy, family-friendly meals.
  • Now at 45, I still talk to my mom daily and often run things by her. (She loves my late-night calls!) Thanks, Mom.
  • When my kids were young, I started a small cake business and developed some fantastic cake and cupcake recipes.
